The Stone Supply Process from Turkey to Spain
How does a sack of Muğla White travel from Izmir to a Mediterranean garden? Behind the scenes of the B2B supply process.
Behind a sack of white dolomite standing on a garden-center shelf in Spain lies a meticulous process most buyers never see. As a supplier and member of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, we run that process with the same discipline on every shipment. In this article we walk transparently through the main steps of supplying landscape stone from Turkey to Spain.
1. Enquiry and sample approval
The process begins by clarifying the buyer’s need: which stone (Muğla White, decorative dolomite, tumbled pebbles), which grain size, which packaging, what volume? Product and packaging samples are then prepared and submitted for approval. Sample approval is the most critical threshold of the process, because it sets the measure for all production that follows.
2. Contract manufacturing and quality control
The approved standard becomes a production order. The stone passes through crushing, screening and, where required, tumbling. Grain-size distribution and colour consistency are checked batch by batch; a batch outside the standard does not enter the shipment. If the buyer sells under their own brand, private-label printing and labelling on sacks or big bags is completed at this stage.
3. Documentation, customs and loading
Export documents — invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and transport documents — are prepared to match the shipment plan. Customs clearance is handled under registered-exporter status. Container loading follows a pallet layout designed to prevent packaging damage in transit.
4. Shipment and delivery
The cargo leaves port on the planned date and the buyer is kept informed throughout. On arrival, the complete document set is handed over. Our own measure of success is simple: on the second order, the buyer should not need to ask the same questions again. That is exactly what we mean by “direct supply from Turkey to Spain” — a supply chain where the process does the talking, not the middlemen.
