Our Story

In the footsteps of the People of Light

A brand’s name tells you what it draws from. Ours comes from one of the oldest voices of this land.

The Name

Luvia: the People of Light

We took our name from the Luwians, one of the ancient peoples of Anatolia. Contemporaries of the Hittites, their name is linked by many scholars to the root word for “light” — which is why the Luwians are also called the “People of Light”. We wanted a daily reminder that we inherit a culture that worked this soil, carved this stone and understood abundance thousands of years ago.

Luvia Botanik carries that inheritance in today’s language: bringing Anatolia’s abundance together with Mediterranean elegance. Whether we are building a garden or packing a sack of stone, we look for the same measure — simplicity, balance and light.

The Team

Two partners, one passion for gardens

Our story began with the landscaping partnership that Songül and her co-founder ran together between 2007 and 2012. For five years they worked side by side in the gardens of the Aegean, learning every stage in the field — from design to installation, from plant selection to stone texture.

Over the years that partnership matured into craftsmanship and a shared aesthetic language. Today Luvia Botanik is carried by the same two hands: two complementary founders, one fluent in the language of plants, the other in the language of stone and trade.

Vision

Two Countries, One Brand

From our roots in Izmir we reach across the Mediterranean. In Turkey, through our landscaping projects and garden center; in Europe, through the export operations we run under the name Luvia Botanica Europe S.L.U., bringing natural landscape stones to the Spanish market.

Being one brand in two countries is not a slogan for us but a way of working: the same standard of quality, the same aesthetic language, the same word kept. Every step of a Muğla White stone’s journey — from Izmir to a Mediterranean garden — carries the same care.
